Patrick Stewart's version of the Professor X character met his maker in X-Men 3, but according to statements he made during a recent Q&A, it seems like he may be making a return to the franchise.
Stewart was in Montreal for their Comic-Con, sitting in on a panel when a fan asked him if there was any possibility that he'd make his way back to Professor X. Surprisingly, Stewart revealed that -- in his words -- "I think there is every possibility. Yes, I'll be reprising..."
It was at this point that Stewart was inconveniently cut off by his son, who presumably understood that this was not a cat that should be let out of the bag at this particular juncture.
Either that, or Stewart was confused, or intentionally playing a prank on the person who had the misfortune of being the one to ask him for the 10,000th time whether he'd ever make another X-Men movie. Who knows? Either way, it's still fun to imagine Stewart back in the wheelchair for another go-round in one of the roles he was born to play.
